Summary of Position

Promote dental health by completing dental prophylaxis, providing oral cancer screening and radiographic studies, charting conditions of decay and disease, performing procedures in compliance with the dental practice act.

Population Served

Roanoke Chowan Community Health Center will provide open access, community-oriented primary care of the highest quality to all residents within our service area and surrounding counties, regardless of their ability to pay.

Minimum Qualifications

Ability to read, write and comprehend instructions in the English language. Communicate effectively. Interact in a respectful and professional manner with internal and external custons or related charges. Able to travel to other RCCHC site. Understanding of, and sensitivity to, the diverse populations, socioeconomic, cultural and ethnic backgrounds to the communities we serve.

Ability to navigate and enter data into an EHR

• Microsoft word / excel or equivalent

Education : Associate degree in Dental Hygiene from an accredited Dental Hygiene program

Experience : Two (2) years' experience preferred but not required. Bilingual English / Spanish preferred.

Essential Functions

Safety, including universal precautions and safe work practices, established fire / safety / disaster plans, risk management, and security, reports and / or corrects unsafe working conditions, equipment repair and maintenance needs.

Cooperates and works together with all care team members, plans, and completes job duties with minimal supervisory direction, including appropriate judgement.
