Position Overview

Core Responsibilities

• Strategic Project Stewardship: Lead and manage the entire lifecycle of highway design projects, ensuring that every roadway and bridge solution is delivered with precision, on schedule, and within budget.

• Multidisciplinary Leadership: Direct and mentor diverse teams of engineers and technical staff, fostering a culture of high performance and technical growth.

• Client Advocacy: Act as the primary point of contact for DOT and municipal stakeholders, translating complex engineering challenges into clear, actionable project alignments.

• Technical Excellence & Compliance: Oversee the application of rigorous DOT standards and permitting requirements, ensuring all deliverables meet the highest quality and regulatory benchmarks.

• Advanced Digital Delivery: Champion the use of Bentley software suites, including MicroStation and OpenRoads, to integrate complex design data into seamless, high-fidelity project models.

• System Integration: Coordinate across transportation planning, traffic engineering, and construction administration to ensure unified project execution.

Required Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering.

• Licensure: Active Professional Engineer (PE) license.

• Experience: Minimum 5+ years of dedicated highway design and project management experience.

• Software Proficiency: Expert command of Bentley software, specifically MicroStation and OpenRoads.

• Regulatory Knowledge: Deep understanding of DOT project delivery processes and standard specifications.

Preferred Qualifications

• Regional Expertise: Specific experience managing projects for the Kansas (KDOT) or Oklahoma (ODOT) Departments of Transportation.

• Advanced Leadership: Proven track record of managing multi-million dollar infrastructure portfolios.

• Industry Differentiators: Familiarity with emerging regional standards and multi-state licensure.
