Position Summary
The Business Analyst plays a critical role in supporting Gaven Industries’ project financial management. This role will serve as the interface between finance and project management to ensure that Gaven is strictly managing each project in terms of costs and billings. This role ensures that budgets, forecasts and invoice milestones for all projects are accurately loaded into the company’s ERP system (Infor SyteLine). The Business Analyst will become adept at the ERP system and serve as a gatekeeper of accurate data.
Job Responsibilities
- Management of all project budgets and estimates at completion within the ERP system.
- Management of all project invoice milestone schedules within the ERP system.
- Produce weekly Project Status Reports showing key metrics (Budget vs Actual, Invoicing projections, etc.)
- Oversight and correction of actual charges to projects.
- Creation and set-up of new projects.
- Establish customer credit limits with Head of Finance and Accountant.
- Assess contracts for sales tax liability and assist with sales tax filings.
- Review WIP to ensure that costing is correct and jobs are being closed timely.
- Review Inventory to ensure that costing is correct and take corrective actions as necessary.
Skills, Knowledge, Abilities
Proficiency in Infor SyteLine, or ability to quickly learn a complex ERP system.Meticulous attention to detail.Critical thinking and problem-solving skills, with an ability to deliver creative solutions as needed.Strong ability to communicate with other departments.Ability to thrive in a challenging environment.Education / Experience
Bachelor’s degree in finance or related field.Minimum of 3–5 years of related experience in project financial management.Experience interfacing with other departments (sales, project management, operations, supply chain).Supervisory Responsibility :
