Coleman Agency is an authorized independent agency in Cypress, TX, under a trusted 85+ year insurance carrier serving 42 state governments. We partner with Northwest Houston business owners to design competitive benefits strategies that help them attract talent and strengthen their organizations.


As a B2B Sales Manager, you'll build a rewarding leadership career recruiting, training, and developing professional Benefits Advisors. You'll begin with personal production during your initial training period to learn our sales process and understand how to measure success—proving you can close, so you can effectively train and develop your team. Once you've mastered the approach, your focus shifts to building and leading your division, earning through team override commissions, development bonuses, and team performance incentives as you build a thriving division under Coleman Agency.


You'll recruit talented professionals, guide them through comprehensive training and certification, provide field training and support, and help them build successful careers. Your success is measured by your team's collective production and development.


We provide the infrastructure, training systems, and support to help you succeed. You'll have access to proven methodologies, professional development resources, and direct leadership collaboration as you build your team.


Performance-based pay with no base salary. Earn through override commissions, development bonuses, team performance incentives, and first-year incentives. The initial training period earns at-plan commission while learning the sales process.

Compensation:

$120,000 - $180,000 yearly

Responsibilities:

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Recruit and develop talented professionals into successful Benefits Advisors through strategic sourcing, interviewing, and selection
  • Provide comprehensive training and support through field development training, joint client meetings, and hands-on mentorship on consultative sales, relationship building, and account management
  • Lead team development with regular mentorship sessions focused on skills enhancement, pipeline management, and professional growth
  • Guide team performance through supportive accountability, activity coaching, and celebrating successes while measuring their closing ability and production success
  • Build a collaborative culture within your division, emphasizing professional development, mutual support, and shared success
  • Manage and oversee the division's collective book developed by your team, maintaining responsibility for all accounts within your division


Initial Training Phase:

  • Personal production focus during the initial training period to learn our sales process, understand how to close, and measure success so you can effectively train and develop your team
Qualifications:

STRONGLY PREFERRED:

  • Active Texas Life & Health Insurance License with proven production track record
  • Business development or consulting experience (sales-based) with demonstrated success in building client relationships and closing business


REQUIRED:

  • 3-5+ years B2B sales experience with a proven track record of building client relationships and consistent production
  • 2+ years of experience developing others through training, mentorship, or team leadership, with demonstrated ability to help people succeed
  • Consultative sales approach focused on understanding needs, building trust, and creating long-term value for clients
  • Professional network and relationships for recruiting quality candidates and initial business development
  • Strong leadership abilities with a genuine desire to help others build successful careers
  • Comfort with performance-based compensation (no base salary), earning through team override commissions, development bonuses, and team performance incentives
  • Commitment to licensing within 2-4 weeks if not currently licensed (we provide preparation and support)
  • Reliable transportation for team support and client meetings throughout Cypress/Northwest Houston


Preferred:

  • Experience recruiting and developing sales teams, employee benefits or insurance background, and Northwest Houston business relationships
  • Active Texas Life & Health Insurance License, experience in employee benefits/insurance/financial services, previous sales leadership in professional services


Bonus:

  • Business degree
  • Self-motivated with comfort with performance-based pay (no base salary) tied to personal and team success
  • Bilingual (Spanish/English) highly valued
