SUMMARY OF FUNCTION
Performs work involving receipt and documentation of routine and emergency exchanges to police, fire, and EMS personnel. Performs the full range of police, fire and EMS dispatch and radio operation functions as needed; operates in the communications center which serves the City of Cortez and Montezuma County area; gathers, receives, records, and disseminates information provided by the public. The job requires the ability to receive and maintain certifications required to be a dispatcher. Successful trainees will complete classroom courses, on-line training, and three months of on-the-job training.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS :
Must be at least 18 years of age
Must have a High School Diploma or equivalent (GED)
Must be able to speak, write and comprehend the English Language
Must be able to type 35 wpm
Must have or be able to obtain a Colorado Driver's License
Must be able to work holidays and rotating shifts to include nights (overnights), days and weekends.
