Job Summary
Provides assistive care to research patients and the Clinical Trials team. Assists with clerical and administrative functions as a multi-skilled auxiliary worker.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Individuals must possess these knowledge, skills and abilities or be able to explain and demonstrate that the individual can perform the essential functions of the job, with or without reasonable accommodation, using some other combination of skills and abilities.
1. Must be fluent in English with the ability to communicate (written and verbal) medical terminology at an advanced level.
2. Demonstrated phlebotomy skills
3. Demonstrated interpersonal communication skills.
4. Must have knowledge of medical terminology and non-invasive diagnostic equipment (blood pressure cuff, stethoscope and ophthalmoscope and otoscope) as well as an excellent understanding of a basic physical examination.
5. Must have excellent desktop computer skills
6. Must have skills and relevant hands on experience acquired from working in a procedure based medical environment.
Required Qualifications
2 - 3 years prior experience in a medical office environment. Knowledge of medical terminology and various types of medical testing equipment or devices. Ability to communicate effectively with patients and staff.prior clinical research experience helpful, but not required.
At least Medical Assistant Certificate from an accredited course of study is required or other relevant healthcare profession (ie nursing)
BA / BS in health science helpful but not required
BLS certification

1. Performs all responsibilities as delegated by University Research administration and individual Principal Investigators.
