Quality Control Lead

We are seeking an experienced Quality Control Lead to oversee and ensure compliance with all quality standards in the production of concrete pipe and precast products. This role is critical in maintaining strict adherence to VDOT (Virginia Department of Transportation) requirements, while also leveraging preferred certifications such as MDOT, ACI, and PQS . The QC Lead will work closely with production, engineering, and management teams to implement quality processes, troubleshoot issues, and verify compliance with customer and regulatory specifications.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Lead daily quality control activities for all concrete pipe and precast production.

Ensure compliance with VDOT specifications and testing procedures.

Maintain required documentation, reports, and certifications to meet DOT and project requirements.

Perform and oversee product inspections, material testing (aggregate, concrete, reinforcement), and dimensional checks.

Train, mentor, and supervise QC technicians and plant staff on quality procedures.

Collaborate with production supervisors to address non-conformances and implement corrective actions.

Interface with customers, inspectors, and third-party auditors to demonstrate compliance and resolve quality issues.

Maintain calibration and certification of testing equipment.

Drive continuous improvement in quality assurance practices, product consistency, and compliance tracking.
