We are seeking a Neurology Medical Director to join our team. This role will be reporting to the VP of Clinical Development and be responsible for providing strategic input to the translational and clinical development of cellular therapy for neuroimmune disease. This is an unprecedented opportunity for a Physician with foundational understanding of the pathobiology of neuroimmune diseases and experience in clinical trials to be a part of drug development from the early clinical stages through late development. This individual will join the clinical development team at the design stage of the program and will thus play a role in formulating strategy, designing and executing clinical trials, and helping to design and oversee collaborations with academia.
Responsibilities and Duties :
- Provide clinical and scientific input for protocols, Investigator Brochures, Clinical Study Reports, regulatory submissions, and other development documents.
- Design and execute early-stage clinical development plans to demonstrate proof of concept.
- Act as Medical Monitor for assigned studies, ensuring safety oversight and medical data review throughout the trial.
- Review and interpret clinical trial data, ensuring scientific integrity and alignment with program goals.
- Collaborate with external investigators on Investigator Sponsored Trials and assist in site selection and feasibility assessments.
- Partner with cross-functional teams (Clinical Operations, Regulatory Affair, Manufacturing, Quality, etc.) and external partners (e.g., CROs, Safety Review Committees) to support study planning and execution.
- Collaborates with the Translational Medicine team to strategize, design, and implement biomarker plans.
- Lead cross-functional efforts to translate preclinical mechanistic insights into clinical development strategies.
- Interface with internal research, translational, and clinical leaders to guide indication selection and shape overall program direction.
- Collaborate on regulatory planning and contribute to milestone meetings such as End-of-Phase discussions.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Requirements :
Physician (M.D.) or Physician-Scientist (M.D. / Ph.D.) with clinical / translational research background and drug development experience across multiple disease areas (ideally, board certification in Neurology)At least 3 years of drug development experience in the biotech / pharmaceutical industry (Phase 1, Phase 2, and / or Phase 3)Experience working with the principles and techniques of data analysis, interpretation, and clinical relevance.Prior experience as a medical monitor.Commitment to the highest ethical standards.Proven leadership skills and ability to bring out the best in others on a cross-functional teamAble to provide effective leadership through influence across organizations on partnered programsExcellent project management skills.
