Job description

Crew Leader

The best teams are created and maintained here. The crew leader is responsible for overseeing landscape operations at client sites, managing a crew of 25 team members to ensure tasks are completed safely, efficiently, and to BrightView's quality standards. This role involves supervising a variety of service lines, including basic landscape maintenance, installation, and supportive services such as irrigation, seasonal color management, and chemical applications. The crew leader plays a key role in maintaining client satisfaction through effective team leadership and high-quality service delivery.

Duties and responsibilities include maintaining a schedule and ensuring service expectations are met, surfacing customer problems or concerns and reporting back to the operations manager, assisting in resolving issues with customer service when needed, ensuring work is performed safely and in accordance with company policies, communicating regularly with the operations manager to ensure client needs and expectations are consistently met or exceeded, delivering services as specified on client sites, working to identify more efficient ways to perform work, coordinating service execution with the operations manager, overseeing day-to-day site operations and delegating work to crew team members, providing operations manager feedback on crew members, working with the operations manager to develop and train crew members, ensuring equipment preventative maintenance is performed as needed and equipment is in good working order, participating in branch meetings as directed, accurately capturing and turning in crew time logs through electronic time capture (ETC), and logging equipment usage and maintenance cycles.

Education and experience required include BrightView equipment certifications, experience in a landscape-related field, demonstrated leadership among the team and with peers, and a valid driver's license.

Physical demands and requirements include the ability to lift and carry 40 lbs. (mulch, fertilizer, etc.), the ability to load / unload burlaps with plant cuttings onto trailer (up to 50 lbs.), the ability to bend, stoop, and twist continuously throughout the day, and the ability to work in extreme conditions temperatures may exceed 100 degrees Fahrenheit. The work environment includes working in or about situations near direct automotive traffic, working near or about natural bodies of water, and working outdoors in moderate to extreme heat in dry / humid near automotive traffic, natural bodies of water, fumes, dust, mechanical / electrical hazards, and direct sunlight. Protective clothing and personal devices are required : eye protection, safety vest, gloves, hard hat, earplugs, long-sleeved shirts, and work boots.
