Sheriff Department, Detention Officer
Routine work in the safekeeping of prisoners in the custody of the Sheriff at the county detention facility. Oversees inmates during transport and in their quarters, testifies in court and processes arrest / booking paperwork for detention and courts. Must have the ability to legally carry a firearm. Full time with full benefits.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle or feel; talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must regularly lift and / or move up to 10 pounds, and occasionally lift and / or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and / or move up to 100 pounds. Employee must possess the physical ability to run for long periods of duration, if necessary, in pursuit of a suspect. Employee must also possess the agility to contain and apprehend the suspect once captured. Employee must be trained in the use of communication equipment, firearms, Electronic Control Board, stun devices, camera equipment, hand cuffs and leg irons, tactical equipment, bullet proof vest, PR24 Baton or ASP, restraint equipment, fire control equipment, and O. C. Spray. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
