About the Role :
We are dedicated to providing exceptional care and clinical leadership across our nursing homes. We are seeking a highly skilled and strategic Traveling Director of Nursing (Divisional DON) to oversee and support multiple facilities, ensuring the highest level of patient care and regulatory compliance. The Traveling Director of Nursing will be responsible for providing clinical oversight, leadership, and operational support to multiple skilled nursing facilities. This role requires an experienced RN leader with a deep understanding of long-term care operations, regulatory compliance, and clinical best practices . The ideal candidate will be an influential mentor who can assess, stabilize, and optimize nursing departments while supporting and developing facility-level clinical leadership.
Major Responsibilities :
- Lead and direct the overall clinical operations of assigned facilities, ensuring high-quality resident care.
- Provide full-time clinical oversight and accountability , supporting care centers during leadership vacancies or transitions.
- Conduct immediate assessments of clinical systems and processes to ensure compliance with company policies and regulatory standards.
- Coach and mentor clinical management staff and consultants, setting priorities and job assignments to optimize operations.
- Evaluate and develop facility nursing leadership , identifying opportunities for training, growth, and succession planning.
- Monitor facility performance , provide feedback, and assist in discipline or corrective action as necessary.
- Oversee and assist in stabilization and improvement efforts at care centers, implementing best practices for superior patient outcomes.
- Develop and execute clinical business plans that drive excellence, efficiency, and regulatory compliance.
- Foster a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and innovation in clinical operations.
- Ensure compliance with state, federal, and company regulations , maintaining up-to-date knowledge of industry trends.
- Travel extensively to support facilities, including overnight stays and extended periods at assigned locations.
Minimum Qualifications :
RN Nursing Degree from an accredited college or university.Current, active, and unencumbered RN license in the assigned state(s); state-specific licensing is not required for support roles where the individual is not acting as a facility DON.Minimum of five (5) years of management or supervisory experience in long-term care or acute care settings.Experience in restorative or geriatric nursing is preferred.Proven leadership and performance management experience with the ability to drive clinical excellence.Current CPR certification is required.Ability to travel extensively , including overnight stays and extended assignments at multiple facilities.Must be qualified, compassionate, and dedicated to delivering exceptional healthcare outcomes.Why Join Us?
