Vulnerability Analyst

Responsibilities and Duties :

Vulnerability Analyst in support of the Federal Government.

This role is hybrid (remote and government site).

Thorough understanding of identifying and analyzing vulnerabilities in software, hardware, and systems.

Clear understanding of :

National Checklist Program (NCP)

Common Vulnerability Scoring System (CVSS) scoring

Common Weakness Enumerations (CWEs)

Common Platform Enumeration (CPE)

Common Vulnerabilities and Exposures (CVEs)

Basic Qualifications

Education : Associate's degree, IT industry certification in a platform or applications (e.g., MCSA, MSCE, CCNA, CCNE, SCSA, etc.) or demonstrated work experience in vulnerability analysis. Bachelor's degree may be substituted for 2 years' general IT experience. OR no college degree and at least 6 years of experience in general IT experience of which 2 years must be specialized experience in vulnerability analysis, incident response, or vulnerability management.

This role is suited for an experienced IT professional with a solid foundation - we're looking for a minimum of 5 years of general experience in the field. At least 2 of those years should be specifically focused on cybersecurity disciplines like vulnerability analysis, incident response, or vulnerability management. The ideal candidate will be self-directed and capable of operating with a high degree of autonomy, comfortable working both independently and with minimal oversight. We expect someone who can take the initiative and drive tasks forward with only general guidance.

Perform vulnerability data analysis and reporting.

In-depth knowledge of industry standard vulnerability scanning toolsets.

Be able to prioritize vulnerabilities based on severity and impact.

Must also be able to work independently and work well within a team environment.

Previous experience working in support of the Federal Government.

Benefits :

Pay Range $95,000 - $105,000
