Lockheed Martin : Aircraft Component Inspector

This position seeks an experienced Aircraft Component Inspector to join their team at a designated Lockheed Martin facility. The role involves performing meticulous inspections on various aircraft components to ensure their quality and compliance with standards.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Comprehensive Inspections : Conduct thorough inspections on aircraft components, including parts and assemblies such as transmissions, rotor heads, gearboxes, and power plants.
  • Technical Proficiency : Use technical drawings, inspection procedures, manuals, and documentation to evaluate components and ensure specifications are met.
  • Problem Solving : Collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, and field personnel to identify discrepancies, troubleshoot malfunctions, and address customer requests.
  • Quality Assurance : Review and sign inspection documents, manage nonconforming materials, and ensure updates and revisions are implemented.
  • Leadership : Mentor junior inspectors and contribute to team success.

Qualifications :

  • Strong knowledge of aircraft component inspection procedures, manufacturing processes, and mechanical operations.
  • Ability to interpret complex drawings and use precision measuring instruments.
  • Familiarity with military and commercial inspection standards.
  • High school diploma and relevant mechanical trades training.
  • 3 to 5 years of experience in aircraft component inspection.
  • Flight Safety Parts Certification is mandatory.
  • FAA Airframe and Powerplants Certification is highly desirable.
