Overview

Penske Automotive Group is looking for an experienced IT Technician to join our team in San Diego, CA and help support the infrastructure of our technical organization.

As an IT Technician, you will be responsible for assisting employees with questions on the usage of technology and for installing and maintaining computer hardware, software, and networks.

Pay for this position is $29 - $32 per hour.

What We Are Looking For

Ability to troubleshoot technology issues for employees over the phone and in person.

Friendliness, enthusiasm, reliability, with a positive "team-player" attitude.

Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.

Strong work ethic with the ability to work in a fast-paced, results-driven environment.

Strong mathematical, analytical, and computer skills relevant to an Information Technology position, with at least one year of recent applicable experience.

Qualifications & Competencies

Expertise in computer hardware and software systems and programs including but not limited to emails, industry specific software, telecommunications, computer networks, network administration and network installation

Ability to prioritize multiple "High Priority" requests for most efficient operations

Ability to remain patient and professional when faced with difficult situations

Ability to demonstrate proper techniques for using company's technology resources

Ability to understand, and keep abreast of, regulations that impact business, customer and employee information security

Ability to wear proper safety equipment

Ability to facilitate and / or conduct technical training on use of equipment and software to employees

Extreme computer proficiency in Microsoft Office

Excellent communication skills with the ability to communicate via face-to-face, phone, or by other means of communication

Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions

Ability to process data and organize it for management analysis

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure

Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs

Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume

Ability to understand and follow work rules and procedures

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form

Ability to work independently and to carry out assignments to completion within parameters of instructions given, prescribed routines, and standard accepted practices

Ability to interact well with others and be a positive influence on morale of department, dealership and organization

Position Type / Expected Hours of Work

Works evenings, weekends and holidays as required.

Required Education and Experience

High School Diploma or equivalent; and one to two-year related experience and / or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Preferred Education and Experience

Associate's degree (A. A.) or equivalent; and one to three-year related experience and / or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience

Additional Eligibility Qualifications (Certification / Licenses / Registrations)

Microsoft Certification preferred but not required
