Job Title – SCADA Instrumentation and Controls Engineer
Location – Castle Rock, CO (On-site role)
Role Type – Direct Hire, Full-Time
Must Have Skills :
- Rockwell Suite Expertise : Extensive hands-on experience with Rockwell PLCs and FactoryTalk View SE, including troubleshooting, configuration, and building from scratch.
- Ignition + MQTT Communications : Strong experience with Ignition (including Ignition Edge) combined with MQTT for SCADA communications, data transfer, reporting, and visualization.
- Field Instrumentation Skills : Proven ability to calibrate, configure, and wire field instruments to PLCs, ensuring full integration from device through SCADA.
- Proven experience in water / wastewater utilities or industrial automation environments
Responsibilities and Job Details :
Lead planning, upgrades, and expansion of SCADA systems in line with a long-term automation master planProgram, integrate, and maintain Allen-Bradley PLCs, FactoryTalk, and Emerson / Bristol Babcock systemsSupport water and wastewater utility operations through advanced automation and controls engineeringEnsure cybersecurity practices are implemented and maintained for industrial control systemsDevelop and implement HMI and telemetry solutions to optimize system performanceTroubleshoot and resolve technical issues across PLC, HMI, and communication networksProvide leadership and mentoring on technical projects within the engineering teamEnsure compliance with regulatory requirements and safety standardsCollaborate with cross-functional teams to support reliable and efficient utility operationsParticipate in system upgrades, replacements, and integration projects following PlantPAX philosophyMaintain technical documentation and system configurations for long-term supportPerform on-site work in environments with varying conditions, including proximity to high-voltage equipment
