What You’ll Be Doing

CIBC is a leading Canadian‑based financial institution with over 48,000 employees worldwide and annual revenue in excess of C$23 billion per year. The CIBC U.S. Middle Market Investment Banking team advises private equity funds, entrepreneurs, and small publicly traded companies on mergers and acquisitions, private debt, equity financings, recapitalizations, and other transactions up to $500 million of enterprise value. The Managing Director (MD) will work with senior professionals to expand the presence in industry‑specific sectors, lead generation, marketing and execution of sector / industry engagements, and foster client relationships.

Responsibility Highlights

Lead generation and execution of sector / industry specific financial advisory mandates.

Facilitate client onboarding and AML clearance processes.

Identify opportunities and sign fee‑paying engagements.

Lead and oversee financial modeling and analyses.

Act as central point of contact between deal team and client team members.

Generate and disseminate thought‑leadership pieces.

Maintain relationships with external stakeholders and internal product experts.

Mentor and coach executive directors, directors, associates, and analysts.

Ensure compliance with all legislation and CIBC policies.

How You’ll Succeed

Significant knowledge of market dynamics and trends.

Experience in middle‑market M&A and advanced financial analysis.

Superior analytical, problem‑solving, and presentation skills.

Excellent interpersonal and relationship‑building skills.

Minimum 10 years related experience, currently working as an MD.

Demonstrated ability to work under pressure and adapt to changing priorities.

Alignment with CIBC values of trust, teamwork, and accountability.

Compensation & Benefits

Expected salary : $300,000 for the New York market, based on experience, qualifications, and location. Eligibility for a discretionary bonus and incentive compensation plan.
