Job descriptionSchedules and performs drug and alcohol collections accurately, timely and efficiently according to the appropriate governing bodies. Exhibits outstanding customer service by serving as a resource person for all drug and alcohol clients and maintains communications with testing laboratories and MROs. Maintains third party administration database for the selection of client random collections. Reviews, logs and distributes drug and breath alcohol results to appropriate clients. Serves as the trainer for inpatient and outpatient collectors. Maintains and updates collectors of regulatory standards and process changes for DOT, FAA, FMCSA, FRA, FTA, PHMSA, USCG, NRC, HHS and various Government Contractors. Assists leadership with development of training materials and work instructions for staff and clients. Coordinates and presents in-services, refreshers and competency assessments for all laboratory collectors annually and otherwise as needed. Assists leader with manager and supervisor training for TPA clients. Maintains certifications and continuing education for self and team of collectors for DATIA and other governing bodies. Maintains reporting mechanisms for error correction reports and QA reports for quarterly leadership meetings. Conduct and maintain on-site collection program for athletic drug testing and other clients by request. Associate's degree, Medical Laboratory Technician, preferred. High School Diploma, required Phlebotomy Program Training, required Certified Professional Collector - within 60 days of hire Certified Collector Trainer - required within 180 days of hire Minimum 1 year previous Drug and Alcohol collector experience preferred Minimum of 1 year of outpatient phlebotomy experience required Previous healthcare or laboratory experience required

Job Description :
The Drug and Alcohol Technician is responsible for the oversight of the Drug and Alcohol testing program, including quality of service, regulatory compliance, problem-solving, quality improvement, client billing and patient safety. Functions as a resource and maintains effective communications with business clients and laboratory personnel.
