RELOCATION SUPPORT AVAILABLE

The Test Engineering Manager will champion innovative solutions to improve product quality and efficiency. This position will play a pivotal role in scaling operations, developing test systems, and driving technical excellence in support of new and sustaining AI / ML and GPGPU and hardware accelerator-based server, networking, and storage platforms .

JOB SUMMARY

The Test Engineering Manager is responsible for providing optimum test solutions and strategies through the effective management of systems, procedures, and equipment. Maintaining and surpassing driven innovations and continuous improvement within Test Engineering by harnessing new technologies in the areas of continuous improvement, testing equipment, and statistical analysis. Provide exceptional support to customers, team members, and shareholders while supporting Global Test Engineering initiatives.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES :

  • Provide accurate quotation for new models from new customers and existing customers to ensure company's continuous growth.
  • Guides the Test Engineering Department to operate with a high level of efficiency and integrity.
  • Reviews and develops department structure, seating capacity and forecast. Establishes operations metrics and assets. Develops detailed training plans as needed.
  • Collaborate with executive leadership to ensure alignment of test engineering strategy with overall financial targets.
  • Researches, develops and implements Work Cell systems, support and ISO / QS systems.
  • Compiles and documents data necessary to analyze performance and makes changes in the testing process as needed.
  • Ensure all test equipment is maintained to the best condition for minimum downtime.
  • Seek the new test technologies for employees' development and customers' value added.
  • Set up a failure analysis group to track the cost-effective test reject inventory and reporting process related failure.
  • Establish and maintain departmental policies and best practices to ensure compliance with internal controls, quality standards, and external regulations. Exercise authority to implement procedural changes that enhance operational efficiency and meet corporate objectives
  • Set up a test development group to increase company value and satisfy customers' needs.
  • Brief executive management on departmental performance, potential risks, and strategic opportunities.
  • Direct and mentor subordinate managers and senior technical leads across multiple test engineering units. Approve hiring decisions, conduct performance reviews, and set strategic priorities in support of new product introductions and sustaining operations.
  • Provide the cost reduction through automation and process simplification.
  • Lead cross-functional initiatives to expand Jabil's competitive advantage in emerging markets and technologies.
  • May perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS

KNOWLEDGE REQUIREMENTS

  • Possess expert-level knowledge of test engineering processes within the SMT and electronics industry, specifically pertaining to AI / ML server, storage, networking platforms.
  • Knowledge in computer hardware and software is essential. Ability to handle complex engineering issues and to provide engineering solutions for company operations.
  • Expertise with Jabil's proprietary and custom automated test equipment.
  • Ability to work under tight deadlines with frequently changing priorities.
  • Ability to read, analyze, interpret and communicate regarding common scientific and / or technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents.
  • Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community.
  • Ability to effectively present information to top management, public groups, and / or boards of directors. Advanced PC skills, including training and knowledge of Jabils software packages.
  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.
  • Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
  • Proficiency in use of personal computers, Microsoft Office products (Excel, Word and PowerPoint) and e-mail skills required.
  • EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelors degree in Electronics or Electrical Engineering preferred, from an accredited four-year college or university.
  • Minimum of 7 years work-related experience, including a minimum of 5 years management experience is required; or an equivalent combination of education, experience and / or training.
  • Experience in a hardware testing and development environment, preferably with enterprise server, storage or networking products.
  • Expertise with Linux and Linux Shell; capable of training technicians on Linux / Linux Shell basics.
  • Demonstrate the ability to apply principles of statistical analysis : collecting, analyzing, and interpreting data to make data-driven decisions.
  • Intermediate understanding of Bash and Python programming.
  • Display strong understanding of computer / server hardware concepts, functionality, and integration.
  • Experience working in a multi-site and multi-cultural environments.
  • Proven ability to work within a fast-paced and highly ambiguous business environment.
  • LANGUAGE SKILLS

    Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.

    MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

    Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.

    REASONING ABILITY

    Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.

    PHYSICAL DEMANDS

    The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. The employee is frequently required to walk, and to lift and carry PCs and test equipment weighing up to 50 lbs. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and use of computer monitor screens a great deal of time.

    WORK ENVIRONMENT

    The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. Individuals primary workstation is located in the office area, with some time spent each day on the manufacturing floor. The noise level in this environment ranges from low to moderate. Required PPE for the production area includes composite toed shoes, hearing protection, protective eyewear, and an ESD vest. The manufacturing floor is modernized, climate-controlled, and well-lit.
