LocumJobsOnline is working with Wellhart, LLC to find a qualified Oncology MD in Buffalo, New York, 14215!

About The Position

Wellhart is seeking an experienced Medical Oncologist for a 125-day locum tenens assignment in New York. The assignment begins on 11 / 17 / 2025 with normal clinic hours from 8 : 00 AM to 4 : 30 PM, Monday through Friday, excluding holidays. This role offers an excellent opportunity for a skilled oncologist to provide comprehensive care in both inpatient and outpatient settings, with a focus on veteran-specific oncological cases. The position involves direct patient care, expert consultation, and treatment, including cases related to agent orange exposure, burn pit exposures, and other veteran-specific environmental exposures. The ideal candidate should be comfortable handling a full scope of oncological cases and be proficient in using the CPRS system.

LOA : 125 days (with potential for extension)

Provider Type Needed : Medical Oncologist

Schedule : Monday-Friday, 8 : 00 AM - 4 : 30 PM (excluding holidays)

Job Responsibilities and Duties :

  • Provide expert oncological care in both inpatient and outpatient settings
  • Manage a diverse range of oncological cases, including veteran-specific issues
  • Conduct approximately 5 hours of inpatient coverage per week
  • Perform 26 hours of bookable clinical time per week, seeing approximately 2 patients per hour
  • Participate in tumor board discussions and other assigned tasks
  • Follow established medication policies and procedures
  • Provide discharge education and follow-up instructions
  • Ensure proper communication of test results to providers and patients
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary healthcare teams
  • Maintain accurate and detailed medical records using CPRS system
  • Adhere to all clinical protocols and safety standards
