Overview

A well-established medical group in Waterloo, IA is looking to add 1 2 full-time locum Anesthesiologists to their team starting January / February 2026. Candidates available for at least 2 weeks per month are also encouraged to apply.

Practice Highlights

Schedule : Monday Friday, 6 : 30 AM 4 : 30 PM

Weekend coverage : Call only (1st, 2nd, or 3rd call rotation); 1st call typically gets called in 75% of the time

Night Call : Every 3 4 days, 7 days per week rotation

OB : Yes

Pediatrics : Yes (mostly tonsils and adenoids)

Supervision : Some supervision involved

Team Structure : 6 physicians and 2 CRNAs

Cases : General Anesthesia including OB (TOLAC), healthy peds

Excluded Cases : No hearts or neurosurgery

Procedures : Conscious Sedation required

OR Rooms : 13

Department Volume : cases / day (entire department)

EMR : EPIC (Transitioning May 2025)

Candidate Requirements

Board Certified in Anesthesiology (Required; BE not accepted)

Active IA License or IMLC (Required; LOQ must be provided at time of name clear)

ACLS Certification (Required; can be obtained during credentialing)

COVID Vaccination (Required)

Clean malpractice and background (No settled or pending cases)

Availability for at least 2 weeks / month (Required)

Willingness to take call (Required)

Schedule & Coverage

Start Date : January or February 2026

Work Days : Monday Friday

Call Coverage : Weekends and nights (rotation basis)

No clinic responsibilities

Orientation provided prior to start
