Position Summary :
We are seeking an experienced Estimator to join our team and support the Senior Estimator in preparing detailed and accurate cost estimates, assisting with bid submissions, and participating in subcontractor negotiations. The ideal candidate is highly organized, proactive, and knowledgeable about public works construction-particularly with projects exceeding $30M. Extensive knowledge of and staying current on industry trends, building code updates, and new estimating technologies is essential.

Key Responsibilities :
Identify bid opportunities and attend job walks as neededCollaborate with the estimating department and upper management to ensure timely, complete bid submissionsReview all contract documents to fully understand project scope and requirementsPrepare quantity takeoffs and detailed cost estimates using RS Means, OST, PlanSwift (or similar tools), and historical dataAnalyze subcontractor proposals for scope, pricing, and accuracyConduct post-bid reviews to identify errors or omissions and verify subcontractor inputsUpon award, transition bid packages to Project Management; forward complete budget documentation to PM and AccountingResearch and price unique project elements or materialsBuild and maintain relationships with subcontractors; negotiate pricing and scopeOrganize project Plans & Specs files within company serverAssist Project Managers in compiling change order documentationGenerate budgetary estimates for projects in early design phasesRequired Qualifications :
Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field5-10 years of experience as a Project EstimatorProven experience bidding public works projectsProficiency in BlueBeam, PlanSwift (or equivalent), and RS MeansAbility to manage multiple concurrent bidsStrong communication skills with subcontractors and vendorsFamiliarity with various project delivery methodsPreferred Qualifications :
Prior experience as a Project Engineer in public worksExperience working with LAUSD, the County of Los Angeles, or similar local public agenciesReports to :
