Position Summary
The Operations Manager oversees daily business operations to ensure efficient order fulfillment, supplier coordination, and product quality management. This role manages purchasing, inventory, logistics, and production activities to support Vitex’s sales and customer service goals. The Operations Manager will work closely with the Product, Sales, and Finance teams to maintain operational excellence and scalable growth.
Key Responsibilities
1. Supply Chain & Procurement
- Manage vendor relationships for optical transceivers, cables, and components.
- Oversee purchasing schedules, supplier performance, and cost management.
- Forecast material demand based on sales and project pipelines.
- Negotiate supplier terms and support sourcing for new products or partners.
2. Production & Quality Management
Coordinate incoming inspection, product testing, and RMA processing.Maintain and improve quality control documentation and test procedures.Support product qualification and sample evaluation with engineering and product teams.3. Inventory & Logistics
Manage inventory levels.Oversee order processing, fulfillment accuracy, and on-time delivery.Optimize shipping costs, lead times, and logistics efficiency.Maintain ERP data accuracy for stock, lead time, and purchase order tracking.4. Operational Planning & Coordination
Collaborate with Sales and Product Managers to plan production and delivery schedules.Monitor key operational metrics (inventory turnover, on-time delivery, order accuracy).Lead process improvement initiatives to streamline operations.Support new product launches from a logistics and quality standpoint.5. Team & Cross-Functional Leadership
Supervise and develop the operations and logistics team.Work cross-functionally with Sales, Product, and Finance to align operations with business goals.Ensure compliance with company policies, safety, and industry regulations.Qualifications
Education & Experience
Bachelor’s in Operations Management, Supply Chain, Engineering, or related field.5+ years of experience in operations or manufacturing in the fiber optics, electronics, or telecom industry.Experience managing vendor relationships in Asia and North America.Familiarity with fiber optic products (transceivers, cables, components) is a strong plus.Skills
Strong organizational and analytical skills.Proficiency in ERP systems (e.g., NetSuite, SAP, or QuickBooks Enterprise).Excellent communication and negotiation abilities.Working knowledge of import / export logistics and documentation.Hands-on and detail-oriented with a problem-solving mindset.Compensation
Base salary plus performance-based bonus. Salary is commensurate with experience and qualifications. Benefits include medical, dental insurance, profit sharing, vacation, and PTO days.
