Description :

The Floor RN is responsible for carrying out all geriatric nursing care and treatment in a professional and prescribed manner.

This role involves providing a safe, therapeutic, and hygienic environment for residents.

You will provide nursing care for infirm geriatric residents.

Your responsibilities include overseeing and training staff in resident care.

You will observe and assess residents' behavior and physical conditions.

When acting as the charge nurse, you will oversee the functions of all licensed staff and the Certified Nursing Assistants on the unit.

This position involves learning, implementing, and monitoring specific methods for problem-solving and continuous improvement.

You will administer medication and perform treatments as ordered by the physician.

Effective communication with residents, families, and staff is essential.

You will participate in shift reports and provide initial nursing assessments on newly admitted residents.

Assisting with the development of care plans and ongoing assessments will be required.

You will maintain clinical and administrative documentation regarding residents' diagnosis and progress.

Leadership and supervision of subordinate staff will be part of your duties.

You will assist with direct resident care for Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) as needed.

Conducting in-service training and staff development programs is expected.

You will utilize concepts and tools for process improvements and efficiency.

Other duties may be assigned as related to the position.

Knowledge of geriatric nursing practices, the aging process, and regulatory requirements is necessary.

You should be capable of developing and implementing patient care plans within a team concept.

Effective oral and written communication skills are essential for building interpersonal relationships.

You must be able to learn and implement necessary methods for continuous improvement and efficiency.
