The primary responsibility of the Field Inspector revolves around NESC inspections for telecom aerial infrastructure to ensure code compliance by identifying safety, and code violations.
- Responsibilities :
- Conduct National Electric Safety Code inspections on joint use utility poles.
- Identify NESC code violations
- Determine Make Ready solutions to resolve NESC violations.
- Work as part of a multi-faceted team consisting of engineering, design, and project management, all with a common interest of delivering results to the client.
- Maintain safe working habits and conditions according to regulations and policies
- Additional Responsibilities may include :
- Conduct field engineering services required to prepare permit drawings, OSP construction drawings, and final as-built drawings in electronic format per customer specifications
- Coordinate with the Department Manager, project manager, drafting and / or GIS personnel to produce construction drawings to be used to construct the infrastructure.
- Research and evaluate various route options associated with the projects. Research shall include aerial and underground options, existing customer conduit and other third-party conduit.
- Recommend final route based on most economical solution and permitting agency’s requirements.
- Preferred Qualifications :
- 1-2 years of experience in the OSP Engineering field
- Familiar with current
- NESC
- code compliance
- Ability to work outside in all pacific northwest weather conditions
- Prior experience of aerial and underground construction methods and engineering requirements a plus
- Ability to identify aerial wireline cables including CATV, Telephone, Fiber Optic, and Power.
- Cable placement and splicing methods and practices experience
- Knowledge or experience with Telecommunication systems
- Must be able to pass pre-employment

- High School Diploma or GED
- Valid Driver's License
- with good driving record
- Ability to travel and Work extended hours; overtime and weekends as needed
- Strong
- arithmetic skills necessary
- Ability to lift 20 lbs frequently through a 8 hr. workday
Applicants are required to pass all company drug testing, submit to a background check and adhere to all OSHA, state, city / municipality safety requirements as required.
Job Type : Full-time
Pay : $18.00 - $35.00 per hour
Expected hours : 40 per week
