The Read House Hotel is seeking a professional, passionate, hospitality-minded Host / Server Assistant at its fine-dining establishment, Bridgeman's Chophouse.

Salary : Host = $14.00 per hour / Server Assistant = $8.50 per hour + $Tips

WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR
You are willing to extend yourself into a dual role of Host and Server Assistant. As Host, you will be the first point of contact and first impression for each guest. You will ensure the guest's dining needs are met, including reservations, dietary needs, and special requests. When performing duties as Server Assistant, you will deliver prompt and accommodating service to guests at elevated level of service.
The Host / Server Assistant position is part-time, evening hours. Bridgeman's Chophouse is open daily for dinner. Shift is 4pm - 11pm most days. Holidays may include special lunch and dinner shift times.
Primary Duties & Responsibilities
Welcome guests to the restaurant in a warm and friendly mannerManage the seating chart and seat guests accordinglyMonitor restaurant activity to determine seating and dining flowAnswer phone calls, effectively communicating restaurant hours, availability, and policiesRespond to guest inquiries and requests in a timely, friendly, and efficient mannerPerform opening and closing duties as neededAssist with side work including, but not limited to : cleaning, stocking, folding silverware, etc.Assist servers to consistently deliver a quality experience for guestsPrepare food stations and maintain organized and clean guest tablesServe food and drink to guests at the direction of the serverAbide by all company and state guidelines regarding food handling and the sales and service of alcoholic beveragesClear, clean, and reset tables in preparation for arriving guestsAct as a connection between front of house and back of house when necessaryMaintain regular and punctual on-site attendance with the ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays when business requiresJob Requirements
Education / Experience :
High school diploma or equivalent preferredPrevious fine dining experience preferredCertifications :
TABC Server Permit required within 60 days of hire
Skills :
Excellent communication skills with guests, team members, and managementProficiency in restaurant POS, reservation, and / or inventory applicationsExcellent organization, prioritization, and time management skillsStrong observational skillsPhysical & Mental Requirements :
Ability to frequently lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move up to 20 pounds with or without assistanceAbility to stand for extended periods of time, sometimes more than 8 hoursAbility to hand-carry service trays with 3 covered entree platesAbility to apply commonsense understanding to carry out instructions.Ability to multitask and work effectively in a high-demand, fast-paced environment with changing variablesAbility to apply patience and understanding to all persons and situations.Ability to perform well under pressure to meet the needs of guests, team members and / or managementWork Environment :

Bridgeman’s Chophouse :
This classic, upscale chophouse is named after Peter Bridgeman (aka “Peter Rabbit”). Mr. Bridgeman was one of the most well-known employees of The Read House for 47 years. He served locals and visitors alike and almost never forgot a name or a face. The restaurant was named in his honor for his dedication to guests of The Read House.
