About the Role

The Production Associate is responsible for supporting the daily operations that keeps Coyuchi global production running smoothly. They will be responsible (>

50% of time) for managing vendors, planning and ensuring production is on track, resolving any issues, testing approvals, QC approvals, obtaining sustainability certifications, and doing first cost negotiations with vendors to achieve cost and margin targets. This position is in person at the office in San Francisco, and works cross-functionally as well as with external partners to maintain the go-to-market calendar and to be in full compliance with Coyuchi's unique set of requirements. The ideal candidate has experience managing softgoods production and experience with organic, sustainable products is a plus! A successful candidate will be an effective problem solver and project manager with a strong sense of urgency who views challenge as opportunity.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Manage day to day relationships w / Vendors and sourcing Agents to ensure that production is on time and approvals are passed accurately and on time, and resolve issues in a timely manner
  • Communicate with Vendors / Agents daily to direct priorities and provide PO information
  • Elevate potential production issues to Director and propose possible fixes
  • Prepare production plans and manage PO priorities with Vendors / Agents to achieve company timelines
  • Develop and maintain accurate and reliable Production trackers
  • Manage Cost Line Sheets to reflect item specs, approvals and costs / IMU
  • Lead first cost negotiations with Vendors / Agents to achieve target IMU through negotiations and product engineering
  • Review and approve all samples from PP through TOP and provide feedback to vendors / agents
  • Review and approve all packaging submits and send comments to Vendors / Agents in a timely manner
  • Provide regular, proactive and accurate production updates to cross-functional partners
  • Manage sample development process and timelines to adhere to dept guidelines and calendar
  • Manage and direct agent on Quality Control activities in field
  • Manage the annual audit process for GOTS and GOLS
  • Understand key sustainability initiatives and certifications and help communicate across the organization
  • Facilitate and lead regular meetings with Vendors / Agents to support Sourcing and Production milestones
  • Understand and embrace Coyuchi’s commitment to organic production and be proactive in communicating areas of interest or concern outside the department
  • Maintain an organized workspace and sample library (dropped, approved, un-approved samples)

What We’re Looking For

  • 4+ years experience in sustainable textile / apparel production or product development is required, experience in home preferred
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to multi-task and work independently
  • High-energy problem solver with ability to work independently and take initiative
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Powerpoint and Outlook, Google Suite, knowledge of Asana a plus
  • Must be detail oriented and maintain a high level of accuracy
  • Strong communication, problem solving and time management skills
  • Flexible team player, including calls / communication with Vendors in Asia
  • Bachelor's degree in textile business and marketing, production or design a plus
