Sr. Manager, Procurement, Animal Sciences
Bristol Myers Squibb (BMS) is seeking a strong candidate for the position of Sr. Manager, Procurement, Animal Sciences. The Senior Manager, R&D Procurement will have strategic procurement responsibility for Animal Sciences, including the development of a category strategy, establishing a strong business partner relationship with key stakeholders in Research, executing a SRM program for top tier suppliers and ensuring highest standards of excellence in the delivery of procurement initiatives.

Major Responsibilities and Accountabilities :
- The position will drive Animal Sciences category strategies as a SME and needs to navigate a complex internal stakeholder landscape, coordinating intricate issues across multiple business units, human resources, legal, and finance.
- Leads, teaches and directs Sourcing professionals throughout Strategic Category Management and sourcing processes as well as key processes / skills (e.g., spend management analysis, stakeholder management, etc.).
- Strategic business partnering with R&D business units (Drug Development, Global Development Operations, IT, Digital Health, BI&A, IPS, TRCs, etc.), along with Procurement colleagues in other categories and overseas, Legal, HR, Strategy and Planning, Business Development and Finance.
- Lead sourcing events across all categories to select preferred and approved suppliers within each category, ensure all sourcing activities adhere to BMS' buying SOPs.
- Creates robust and appropriate Supplier Relationship Management (SRM) programs for the categories via category and supplier segmentation, metrics / KPI development and application, scorecards, contract management, etc.
- Share best practices with Global Procurement colleagues and continuously improve site strategy with feedback and discussion on best practices.
- Ability to consolidate market, supplier and internal business data / information to develop and implement a cohesive, business-aligned strategy at both the category and sub-category level.
- Ensure engagement and management of relationships with R&D leadership by understanding their business needs and how it can be fulfilled from the marketplace as well as providing accountability for their alignment.
- Execution of critical R&D agreements for strategic projects.
- Ensure accurate reporting of procurement key performance measures (operational metrics, savings, preferred supplier adherence, customer service, etc.)
- Responsible for spotting market trends and innovative technologies to educate key stakeholders on industry leading practices, R&D suppliers, and procurement solutions.
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements
Minimum education of a B.S. / B.A. is required; M.S. / M.B.A. is preferred.Minimum of five (5) years of experience in business, multi-disciplined procurement and / or research (sourcing or otherwise) is required. Prior R&D experience in biopharmaceuticals, pharmaceuticals, and / or medical device industry is required.Experience with leading large, change management projects.Possess strong negotiation skills to develop preferred rates with BMS partners and knowledgeable about creative deal structuring to build enterprise-level partnerships Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work cross-functionally as critical member of site team and larger R&D Procurement team.Capability to lead projects / initiatives that have significant impact upon global and site business by achieving project milestones and objectives.Has the ability to manage business complexities and provide road map for sustainable solutions.Must have a proactive, creative and analytic approach to continuous improvement in delivering procurement services and identifying new opportunities.Knowledge and proficiency with Ariba system & Icertis is preferred.Compensation Overview : Princeton - NJ - US : $140,760 - $170,568
The starting compensation range(s) for this role are listed above for a full-time employee (FTE) basis. Additional incentive cash and stock opportunities (based on eligibility) may be available. The starting pay rate takes into account characteristics of the job, such as required skills, where the job is performed, the employee's work schedule, job-related knowledge, and experience. Final, individual compensation will be decided based on demonstrated experience. Benefit offerings are subject to the terms and conditions of the applicable plans then in effect and may vary based on the job and location.
