About the Role :

Unity Hospital is seeking a dedicated and skilled Phlebotomist to join our Laboratory team on the night shift. This role focuses on patient blood collection, proper specimen handling, and ensuring adherence to safety and quality standards. The successful candidate will be responsible for performing venipuncture, capillary punctures, and special collection procedures with precision and professionalism.

Key Responsibilities :

• Perform blood collections using various tubes (gray, green, light blue, purple, red tops) and methods including venipuncture, finger sticks, and arterial blood gas (ABG) collections.
• Ensure proper patient positioning and comfort during collection.
• Conduct point-of-care testing as required.
• Provide post-venipuncture care and monitor patients for any adverse reactions.
• Prioritize collections based on order urgency (stat, timed, routine).
• Follow aseptic techniques and maintain age-specific competencies from neonate to older adult.
• Accurately document collection procedures and results in charting systems.
