Superintendent

Join a dynamic construction team as a Superintendent, where your leadership will guide projects to successful completion. You will initially embark on a two-year, $60 million ground-up construction project in Kentucky, adding a new addition to a pharmaceutical manufacturing campus. This salaried position offers the opportunity for overtime, a generous per diem, and two home rotations, as well as initial mobilization and demobilization payments. Following the completion of this project, you will transition to the next exciting challenge.

Responsibilities

  • Lead construction projects to successful completion, ensuring safety, timeliness, and budget adherence.
  • Collaborate with the Project Director and / or Sr. Project Manager to guide engineering, construction management, and superintendent teams.
  • Maintain execution plans for preconstruction, construction, and closeout phases.
  • Manage project scopes of work, budgets, and schedules.
  • Coordinate vendor and subcontractor invoicing and client billing in conjunction with the accounting department.
  • Monitor project costs, field conditions, and ensure changes are accurately reflected in cost reports.
  • Coordinate design content and revisions for constructability and compliance.
  • Align construction schedules with design, commissioning, and qualification schedule requirements.
  • Identify and mitigate project risks in partnership with leadership.
  • Lead and monitor the site safety program with Construction Managers and Superintendents.
  • Regularly interact with clients to ensure their needs are met, focusing on providing an exceptional client experience.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with subcontractors, vendors, and clients to develop effective solutions.

Essential Skills

  • Strong construction experience with a commitment to safety and quality.
  • 10+ years of experience in project delivery or related roles managing construction for multi-million-dollar projects.
  • Experience in construction management, pharmaceutical manufacturing, piping, mechanical, and civil construction.
  • OSHA 30 certification or ability to obtain and maintain.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with teams and clients.
  • Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, construction management, or a related discipline.
  • Experience in constructing pharmaceutical, biotech, and / or life science facilities.
  • Manufacturing / Industrial experience, specifically with GMP on projects over $20 million.
  • Experience with piping and civil construction.
  • Strong team-building skills and a proactive work ethic.
  • Work Environment

    This position involves working on-site at construction projects, often in collaboration with a variety of stakeholders including project directors, engineering teams, and clients. The work environment emphasizes safety and quality, with a focus on maintaining strong client relationships and achieving project goals. The role requires effective communication and leadership to guide teams through complex construction processes.

    Job Type & Location

    This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Overland Park, Kansas. The initial project will be in Kentucky.

    Pay and Benefits

    The pay range for this position is $69.00 - $77.00 / hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
