No 48-hour guarantees or blocked scheduling requests. No more than 5 days of RTO allowed. The unit typically treats an average of 200 patients per day. There are 52 beds and 4 trauma bays. Common diagnoses include any and all emergency needs. Common drips include ICU medications for holding patients, with ICU assistance available. The department includes varied shifts for MDs, mid-levels, and pediatric board-certified staff. There is no charge nurse on each shift; a House Supervisor assists if needed. ED techs with 2 years or more experience are available on each shift. Respiratory therapy is available in the Emergency Room 24 / 7; they handle ABGs, nebulizer treatments, and ventilation support. Dedicated x-ray and CT services are within the Emergency Room, along with a transport team. ED techs can draw labs and RNs can draw from IV starts. Shifts are scheduled with varied start times. Weekend requirements include 4 weekend shifts in a 4-week block. Holiday requirements typically consist of 2 of the 5 holidays. Scrub color is navy blue. Orientation includes one NEO, one day of clinical training, and one day on the floor. Cancellation policy allows for client cancellation equivalent to the weekly guaranteed hours for the assignment. This position is set in an acute care setting.
