The City of Greenfield is seeking a Utilities Division Manager for its Public Works Department. This full-time position offers a competitive salary depending on qualifications. The role is based in Greenfield, CA, within the Public Works department.
The Utilities Division Manager will oversee the work of staff performing complex professional, technical, and administrative support related to all programs and activities of the Public Works Divisions. This includes assisting with project planning, overseeing design, construction, maintenance, repair, and other programs, and managing the effective use of public works maintenance resources.
The Utilities Division Manager reports to the Public Works Director and exercises general supervision over supervisory, professional, technical, operational, and administrative support staff.
Responsibilities include planning, managing, overseeing, and participating in the daily functions of the Public Works Utilities Division, supervising and evaluating staff, developing and enforcing field operations' policies, and monitoring legislation to ensure compliance with laws and regulations.
Qualifications include knowledge of employee supervision, administrative principles, wastewater treatment processes, budget preparation, and safety principles, as well as the ability to organize, direct, and coordinate activities, develop work schedules, and communicate effectively.
Education and experience in water, engineering, or related fields, along with specific licenses and certifications, are required. Working conditions may include evenings, weekends, and holidays, and physical demands include operating a motor vehicle, identifying mechanical issues, and lifting up to 50 pounds.
