ICU RN Job Details

Location : Iron Mountain, MI 49801 (Upper Peninsula)

Assignment Length : 14 weeks

Start Date : November 24, 2025

End Date : March 2, 2026

Hours Per Week : 36

Shift : 12-hour variable shifts (Days : 07 : 00–19 : 30, Nights : 19 : 00–07 : 30), including weekends and rotating shifts

Estimated Weekly Salary Range : $2160–$2210

Healthcare Setting : ICU & IMC (Intermediate Care); may float to Medical-Surgical (MS / Tele), IMC, and Emergency Department (ED)

Patient Population : Adolescents, Adults, Pediatrics, Geriatrics

Unit Size : 7 beds

Registered Nurse Qualifications

Active Michigan RN license required

Minimum 2 years of recent ICU nursing experience

Current ACLS and BLS certifications (AHA required)

Travel nursing experience preferred

PALS certification preferred

Ability to float to other inpatient units (MS / Tele, IMC, ED)

Experience with Paragon / Allscripts (Acute Care) and T-System (ED) charting systems preferred

Flu vaccine required (medical / religious exemptions considered)

ICU RN Responsibilities

Deliver high-quality, compassionate patient care in ICU and IMC settings

Monitor telemetry for the hospital and perform bedside shift reporting (BSSR)

Utilize AIDET communication and conduct hourly rounding

Float to MS / Tele, IMC, and ED as needed

Manage ventilated patients, central lines, arterial lines, and titrate cardiac / vasoactive drips

Interpret arterial blood gases (ABGs) and dysrhythmias

Administer emergency medications and blood products

Assist with chest tube insertion / removal, BiPAP / CPAP management, and wound care

Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams (PT, RT, pharmacy, social services)

Maintain infection prevention protocols and isolation precautions
