Lake Superior Consulting is growing and we are seeking Utility Locators to join our team! We are seeking both experienced locators and those with no experience, we will train!

We are currently seeking multiple positions for Line Locating Technicians in these locations : Eden Prairie, Minnetonka, Wayzata, Watertown, Hollywood, St Louis Park, Minneapolis, Waconia, and surrounding areas.
These are daytime, full-time positions where overtime is required. We work some weekends as needed and also require you to be physically ready for extended hours in all weather conditions.

Your Responsibilities as a Locator :
- Respond to locate requests within the legal time limit
- Mark found utilities using the proper coloring system (APWA marking standards)
- Read and interpret utility maps / prints to identify the size and type of underground utility.
- Complete required paperwork for locates and line crossings / excavations
- Work safely by adhering to LSC and client guidelines and procedures
- Communicate work scopes and responsibilities amongst project-specific field-based teams
- Complete and maintain operator qualifications (OQs)
- Operate and use electronic locating equipment
- Gather data, prepare records and reports in a timely manner
- Perform daily safety meetings and submit daily report documentation
- Generate and gather equipment for kickoffs of projects
- Ensure your work is utilized with respect to company goals
- Document and report any incidents, near misses, and opportunities for improvement
- Work in compliance with all technical procedures and guidelines

High School Diploma requiredAble and willing to work outdoors in various weather conditions, including extreme heat, cold, rain, and snow. Previous outdoor experience is a plus.Physical stamina to walk, bend, and lift up to 50 lbs. in challenging environmentsAvailable to work overtime and weekends as needed, handling the physical demands of extended hours.Availability to participate in on-call rotationPrior utility locating experience is a plus, but we are willing to trainValid driver's license is required and a safe driving recordCapability to operate a company vehicle and use general hand / power toolsComfortable working in confined spaces.Able to distinguish between colors used to identify wiring and mark underground utilities.Must have strong critical thinking, organizational, problem solving, and troubleshooting abilitiesStrong communication skills (verbal and written) to interact clearly with colleagues, customers, contractors, and homeowners.Commitment to working safely and producing high quality, ethical serviceComfortable with Microsoft Office programsBe available for on-call rotationIf you're driven, curious, and ready to grow your career while making a difference, we want to hear from you. The actual starting salary will be determined based on a variety of factors, including your skills, experience, and office / market location. The anticipated hourly range for this position is $21-25 per hour.
