American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Level IV Emergency Department position requiring a WA or compact RN license and advanced certifications.
\n \n Responsibilities\n
Work in a Level IV Emergency Room with 32 beds, including 2 trauma bays and 2 seclusion roomsCare for an average of 125-150 patients per day with a typical nurse-to-patient ratio of 1 : 4-5 depending on acuityTreat general ER patients, cardiac and stroke cases, tPA-capable, STEMI, trauma cases stabilized and transferred, and pediatric transfersNight shifts from 7p-7a with every other weekend requiredPrimary assignment is at the main ER, but floating within Region I (other area hospitals) may be requiredUtilizes EpicCare Inpatient EMR—Epic experience preferred; floor orientation includes Epic trainingMust be able to read and interpret cardiac monitor strips; central monitoring station at the deskVents used in the department; RNs and ED techs share lab draw duties; RT and pharmacy available 24 / 7Professional colored scrubs are required for this roleTeam includes charge RN, ED techs, EMTs, dedicated security, and 24 / 7 RT and pharmacy supportHoliday shifts rotate with permanent staffOrientation includes educator-led modules, Epic training, and one floor-specific shiftFirst to float within Region I if neededAdditional pay may apply when floating to facilities other than the primary assignmentNurses with triage experience may be required to complete a triage testFree charge nurse is present unless census is high\n \n Requirements\n
Active WA or compact RN license required at time of considerationMinimum of 2 years of recent Emergency Department RN experienceCurrent certifications required : BLS, ACLS, PALS or ENPC, TNCC, and NIHSSAbility to read and interpret cardiac monitor strips is necessaryExperience with Epic EMR preferred but not requiredMust provide two professional references : one supervisor reference from the last 12 months, and one peer or supervisor from the last 3 yearsCopy of driver’s license required for consideration\n Benefits\n
