QUALIFICATIONS - High School Diploma
- Currently Enrolled in a Respiratory Therapy Program
- Must be a self-starter, demonstrate resourcefulness and work independently
- Must be responsible in the handling of expensive equipment
- Must read, write and speak English
JOB SUMMARY Assist the Respiratory Therapy Department with various daily operations duties to support patient care.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS - Job requires reaching overhead squatting and kneeling
- Lifting of weight, no greater than 10 lbs. or pushing of objects no greater than 20 lbs.
WORK DEMANDS - All work will be undertaken with staff, under supervision by Respiratory Leadership Team
- Sensible footwear including flat rubber soled shoes, neat sneakers. No open toed shoes or sandals are permitted. Neat clothing including but not limited to scrubs.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS - Stock patient rooms with respiratory supplies
- Fill liquid 02 tanks
- Check portable ventilators, batteries and suction machines to ensure they are plugged in and clean
- Create equipment set-up bags for trach masks, cough assist, ventilator circuit changes, monthly main filter and bollard changes
- Check patient rooms to ensure Air and Oxygen flow meters are available and working properly
- Ensure units have spare ventilators in mechanical rooms
- Ensure (3) Ambu Scopes have disposable scopes and are ready for use
- Check Intubation box inventory levels, restock when necessary and check equipment expiration dates

- Check Trach Cart Inventory to insure proper inventory levels and inventory expiration dates
- Clean ventilators in patient's rooms, including filters in back, and Bernoulli bridges
