A forklift mechanic's job is to maintain and repair forklift trucks, including electric, gas-powered, and propane-powered models. Their responsibilities include :

• Maintenance

Perform routine, emergency, and preventative maintenance on forklifts. This includes scheduled maintenance plans, and ensuring batteries are fully charged and propane tanks are replaced.

Diagnose and repair problems with forklifts, including brake, electrical, and hydraulic systems. They may also replace broken or defective parts, and order replacement parts for major repairs.

Inspect forklifts to ensure they are working properly and safely and remove unsafe equipment from the facility. They may also perform safety inspections before releasing forklifts back into use.

Maintain repair logs for the forklift fleet, and record work orders and maintenance logs.

Depending on experience pay is $20-$25 per hour.

Monday through Friday 6 : 00 am-2 : 30 pm, OT if you want, NOT forced!
