Healthcare Setting : Intermediate Care Unit (IMC) – Cardiac Stepdown

Assignment Type : Travel Registered Nurse

Start Date : November 3, 2025

End Date : February 2, 2026

Contract Duration : 13 weeks

Guaranteed Hours : 36 hours per week

Shift : 12-hour nights

Estimated Weekly Salary Range : $1880 - $2020

Registered Nurse Qualifications

Active and unencumbered Registered Nurse (RN) license in Maryland or compact state

Minimum 2 years of recent clinical experience in IMC, Cardiac Stepdown, or ICU setting

American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification

American Heart Association Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification

NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification

Ability to attend orientation (guaranteed hours do not apply during orientation)

Cardiac Stepdown RN Responsibilities

Provide direct nursing care to high-acuity patients requiring continuous cardiac and respiratory monitoring

Care for patients with sepsis, diabetic ketoacidosis, post open-heart procedures, and those on continuous cardiac infusions or non-invasive ventilation (BiPAP / CPAP)

Rapidly assess and intervene in response to changes in patient hemodynamics or respiratory status

Develop, implement, and evaluate individualized patient care plans

Serve as an advocate and educator for patients and their families

Collaborate with a multidisciplinary healthcare team in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment
