Dir, Accounting, Equity and Payroll
The Director of Accounting runs day-to-day certain accounting operations and certain areas within month-end close. This role will be overseeing accounting and certain administration functions within payroll and equity as well as certain general technical accounting activities and some compliance functions. Responsible for meeting deadlines and a multitude of accounting activities including certain general ledger preparation and certain areas within financial reporting. Responsible for developing and maintaining accounting principles, practices, and procedures to ensure accurate and timely financial statements.
Primary Responsibilities :
Manage a team of direct reports, ensuring effective distribution of work and achievement of both quality and quantity objectives.
Oversee specific areas of the month-end close process, including the review of footnotes within financial statements and reconciliation of Balance Sheet and Income Statement accounts.
Ensure accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and year-end close, maintaining compliance with SOX regulations.
Lead the development and implementation of improved procedures and features to optimize workflows within the functional area.
Act as the lead for financial statement audits in assigned areas and contribute to application implementation projects to enhance process efficiency.
Support the Chief Accounting Officer with special projects and collaborate with other department managers on inter-departmental activities and initiatives.
Build and manage a high-performing, client-focused team by recruiting, training, and developing team members while fostering a strong performance culture.

Qualifications :
Bachelor's degree in Accounting (required).
Certified Public Accountant (CPA) certification (required).
Minimum of 7 years of experience leading teams and managing month-end close processes (required).
Big 4 Public Accounting experience (preferred).
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities :
Technical Skills : Strong understanding of technical accounting principles and SOX compliance requirements. Experience with leading audits and implementing process improvements.
Behavioral Skills : Strong leadership, collaboration, and communication abilities. Proven ability to coach and motivate teams to exceed expectations consistently. Demonstrated capability to manage complex projects and achieve results across business groups. Self-starter with excellent problem-solving, multi-tasking, and organizational skills.
