Travel Nurse RN - Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) / Pre-Post Op - $2,437 per week in Washington, DC

Job Title : Registered Nurse (RN) Profession : Nursing Specialty : Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) Duration : 13 weeks Shift : Day Shift Hours per Shift : 8 hours Experience : Minimum 2 years in ICU; recent PACU / Preop experience required License : Current license to practice as a Registered Nurse in the state Certifications : PALS, BLS, ACLS required; CPAN, TNCC, CCRN highly desirable Must-Have : Candidates must have both Preop and PACU experience. PACU experience must include ICU experience. Candidates must be able to think critically and work independently. Description : Monitor post-operative patients' levels of recovery and consciousness from anesthesia. Provide updates to the medical team as needed. Obtain and record patients' vital signs. Observe patients for signs of side effects from anesthesia medication. Treat pain, nausea, and other post-operative symptoms of anesthesia. Administer medication as prescribed. Update charting, patient files, and medical records. Educate patients and their families on post-surgery care. Answer any questions they may have.
