Job Summary
A mammography technologist is responsible for performing screening and ensuring quality control (QC) in the imaging process. They work closely with radiologists and other healthcare professionals to accurately capture and interpret breast images for early detection of breast cancer. Primary duties include positioning patients, operating mammography equipment, and maintaining patient records. They also maintain and calibrate equipment to ensure high?quality images, adhere to safety protocols, and provide compassionate care during screening.

Minimum Qualifications
- Certified Radiologic Technologist (CRT)
- American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) or UC Davis Health CPR
- Valid CRT Mammography (M) CA State Certificate
- ARRT Mammography Certificate
- Applicant must be up to date on State requirements for Mammography Performance.
- Digital 8?hour 2D and 3D Certificate
- Valid CRT (Diagnostic Radiologic Technology) CA State License
- American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification or UC Davis Health CPR
- No minimum education requirement
- No minimum work experience
- Comprehensive understanding of essential Mammography imaging and knowledge of Radiology equipment, supplies, and drugs.
- Capably demonstrates the knowledge and ability to operate radiographic and auxiliary equipment to produce a quality product. Must be able to adapt to new programs and equipment upgrades as the radiological field advances.
- Physical ability to capably perform all functions of a mammography technologist.
- Skill to prioritize workload to produce a sufficient volume of work in a timely manner.
- Demonstrates responsibility and dependability, i.e., (but not limited to) : attendance, punctuality, positive attitude, initiation of duties not explicitly stated (linen, supplies, cleanliness of work area), maintenance / upkeep of equipment, etc.
- Knowledge, skills, and abilities in using proper body mechanics when lifting and transporting patients and moving radiology equipment.
