Maintenance Director

Hendersonville Health & Rehabilitation is currently seeking a Maintenance Director to join our team of dedicated caregivers.   The Maintenance Director will assume the administrative authority, responsibility and accountability of supervising and carrying out the maintenance tasks for the facility.

Responsibilities include :

Handle day-to-day maintenance functions of the facility and supervise maintenance assistant(s), if applicable, coordinate routine services in coordination with the Administrator and / or Director of Nursing, and complete necessary reports and forms.

The Director will oversee any outside vendors / contracted staff as agreed upon with the Administrator, manage identification codes and passwords to facility secured doors, implement recommendations from the Infection Control and Safety or Quality Assurance (QA) committees as necessary; attend department and staff meetings as directed, assist in the orientation and training of new hires, adhere to department policies and procedures; assign maintenance personnel to specific tasks in accordance with daily work assignments that are completed per manufacturers guidelines and / or department standards.

Attend and participate in annual facility in-service training as scheduled and oversee Life Safety aspects in facility.   Maintain Safety Data Sheets (SDSs) for hazardous chemicals throughout facility, conduct routine inspections of assigned work areas to ensure cleanliness and sanitary conditions are maintained and recommend equipment and supply needs to the Administrator.   Review concerns and grievances of department personnel and make corrections or recommendations / reports to the director as necessary.

Education : must possess a minimum of a high school education or equivalent.

Experience : maintenance department in a health-related setting preferred; must have the ability to plan, organize, develop, implement, and interpret the programs, goals, objectives, policies, procedures of the Maintenance Department.
