Serving as a member of the Joint Pacific Multinational Readiness Center (JPMRC) Joint Fires team, the Battlefield Effects Lead is responsible for the staff planning, coordination, and development of battlefield effects replication and support throughout the JPMRC Joint Exercise Life Cycle (JELC) planning process, and during rotational exercises, manages and oversees the execution and delivery of battlefield effects replication and indirect fire marking support; assists in the execution of the Battlefield Effects Coordination Cell (BECC) replication / coordination activities.
Place of Duty : Fort Shafter, HI, with rotational support in Hawaii, Alaska, and West of the International Date Line (WIDL)

Duties :
- Lead the staff planning, coordination, and development of Battlefield Effects support.
- Coordinate with appropriate warfighting function planners to synchronize effects plans.
- Manage the Battlefield Effects (BFE) replication and indirect fire marking support during at least two rotations per year. (Effects are intended to replicate the results of indirect fire, air-to-ground missions, and artillery delivered minefields.)
- Plan and coordinate fire marker coverage with Fire Support Cell and OC / Ts.
- Coordinate BFE replication with Fire Support Cell prior to implementation; in the absence of OC / Ts assist in assessing casualties IAW the FSC guidance / EXROE.
- Manage staffing with the Horizon Strategies Project Manager to include contracted support to support BFE tasks during training rotations.
- Manage the on-boarding and training of employees supporting the BFE task.
- Contribute to the Weekly Fires Report submission for JPMRC Operations Group (OPSGRP) Support and the Horizon Strategies Report.
- While on Joint Exercise Life Cycle (JELC) events, adhere to established timelines and submission of required products to include daily contributions of the Cross Functional Team (CFT) Lead Planner’s reports.
- Additional duties assigned by and reports to the Lead BAH Fires Planner.
Required Qualifications / Experience :
4+ years of experience in various field artillery roles at the Army or Marine Corps Brigade level and below3+ years of experience in a supervisory role and managing the training and risk management for military training exercises2+ years of experience conducting live exercises at the Brigade level and below or assignment at a Combat Training Center (CTC)Experience synchronizing battlefield effects in support of military training exercisesExperience with Army and Joint doctrine and training policyExperience using Microsoft Office tools, including Word, PowerPoint, and ExcelMust have a current SECRET security clearanceBachelor’s DegreePreferred Qualifications / Experience :
Experience as a Fires Battalion Command Sergeant Major, Operations Sergeant, Operations Officer, or Fire Support Officer / NCOExperience in staff planningExperience managing fire markersExperience with risk mitigationCompletion of Joint Firepower Course or Joint Air Operations Command and Control CourseGraduate of Sergeants’ Major Academy, Command and General Staff College (CGSC), Intermediate Level Education (ILE), or Military Education Level (MEL) 4Travel : Intermittent travel is required; teammates will support exercise execution at a minimum of two rotations (Hawaii, Alaska, or WIDL) and JELC events per year.
Pay Information : $115,000-$120,000 annually (with additional compensation potential while supporting surge periods during rotations).
