Job location : Tampa, FL. This role supports CENTCOM’s Central Command Public Affairs Directorate (CCPA) in shaping CENTCOM’s messaging strategy for U.S. and international audiences and helping inform the public, build transparency, and support CENTCOM’s mission.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and coordinate communication products such as public affairs guidance, media responses, talking points, and press releases.
- Provide media training expertise to senior CENTCOM leaders and designated spokespersons, preparing them for media engagements.
- Conduct daily synchronization calls with public affairs counterparts to align messaging strategies.
- Plan and execute public affairs briefings and coordinate media embeds for key CENTCOM events.
- Provide real-time media support during crisis situations, assisting with 24 / 7 surge operations as needed.
Qualifications
Active Secret Clearance.Strong proficiency in media communications, crisis communications, and dissemination strategies.Ability to research, write, and deliver concise, effective media responses under tight deadlines.Knowledge of global outreach techniques and social media platforms for strategic communication.Familiarity with public affairs guidance development, Associated Press (AP) Style, and Microsoft Office Suite.Strong briefing, collaboration, and critical thinking skills in high-tempo environments.Understanding of U.S. military structure, culture, and operational language.Desired Qualifications
TS / SCI Clearance.Previous experience in public affairs, journalism, communications, or media relations.Accreditation in Public Relations (APR) is a plus.Experience supporting 24 / 7 shift operations and crisis media response.Additional Information
