American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Med / Surg Telemetry position requiring current AZ or compact RN licensure and previous travel experience.
\n \n Responsibilities\n
Work in a 46-bed inpatient Med / Surg Telemetry unit within an acute care settingCare for a diverse patient population including neurology, cardiology, urology, orthopedics, general surgery, renal, pulmonology, and infectious disease casesPatient ratios are typically 1 : 4-5Navy scrubs required12-hour day and night shifts available, with required weekend rotationMust be prepared to float to a sister facility as neededUses Cerner EMR, with experience preferredFloor-specific orientation providedCharge nurse and PCT / nursing aide support available on all shiftsResponsibilities include telemetry monitoring, performing phlebotomy when needed, Foley catheter insertion, and central line dressing changesMust maintain sterile technique and demonstrate proficiencies during skills testingMust be comfortable with drawing labs if phlebotomy department is unavailableRT and pharmacy support available 24 / 7; no hospitalist, intensivist, IV team, or cath labOne major and one minor holiday coverage required per assignmentFirst-day SIMs Lab is pass / fail and required for continued assignmentLocal candidates must live at least 50 miles from the facility to be eligibleReturning employees must have a break in service of at least one year with the facility or any CommonSpirit affiliate\n \n Requirements\n
Active AZ or compact RN license required at the time of consideration; pending licenses not acceptedCurrent ACLS and BLS certifications requiredMinimum of 2 years of recent inpatient telemetry experienceTravel nursing experience is requiredMust pass a dysrhythmia exam prior to offer; two attempts providedMust pass a SIMs Lab skills exam on sterile technique, Foley catheter insertion, and central line dressing changes on first dayCOVID vaccine required or declination with appropriate documentationCandidates must not have been employed by a CommonSpirit facility in the past year\n Benefits\n
