Job Summary :

We are seeking a reliable and experienced Wet Grinder Setup and Operator to join our manufacturing team. This position is responsible for setting up and operating wet grinding machines to perform precision grinding operations on metal components. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of grinding techniques, quality standards, and safety practices within a production environment.

Key Responsibilities :

Set up and operate wet grinding machines according to job specifications and work orders

Select appropriate grinding wheels, speeds, feeds, and fixtures based on material type and required finish

Interpret blueprints, sketches, and technical drawings to ensure accurate grinding

Measure workpieces using precision instruments such as micrometers, calipers, and dial indicators

Monitor machine operation and adjust settings as needed to maintain tolerances and surface finishes

Perform routine maintenance on grinding equipment to ensure optimal performance

Maintain cleanliness and organization of the work area and equipment

Follow safety guidelines and wear proper personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times

Document production output, inspection results, and any machine issues

Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors to meet production goals

Requirements :

High school diploma or equivalent

Experience in setup and operation of wet grinding machines required

Familiarity with various metals and grinding techniques (OD / ID, surface grinding, etc.)

Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical specifications

Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work

Good mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills

Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods

Willingness to work flexible shifts, overtime, or weekends as needed

Preferred Qualifications :

Experience with CNC grinding equipment

Knowledge of coolant systems and their maintenance

Basic computer skills for data entry or machine interface

Experience in a precision manufacturing or tool and die environment
