About Us :

JRP Utility Construction is an expert turn-key utility construction company that offers walkout and design, permitting, both aerial and underground construction, fiber and copper splicing and all required testing and closeout packages. We are seeking an experienced, safety-conscious Directional Drill Operator to support ongoing and upcoming projects and join our growing team.  The ideal candidate must have hands-on experience operating both Vermeer and Ditch Witch directional drills. You will be responsible for safely and efficiently completing horizontal directional drilling for utility installations while adhering to all industry and company safety standards.

Key Responsibilities :

• Operate Vermeer and Ditch Witch directional drills to install underground utilities such as fiber optic cables, conduits.
• Perform bore path planning and execute safe and precise drilling.
• Coordinate with locators and ground crews to avoid existing underground utilities.
• Perform routine maintenance and minor repairs on equipment as needed.
• Interpret and work from construction maps, utility prints, and electronic diagrams.
• Communicate effectively with contractors, project managers, and property owners as needed in English but bilingual is a plus.
• Maintain accurate records of work performed, material used and daily activities.
• Follow all company and OSHA safety regulations and guidelines.
• Load and unload materials, tools, and equipment as needed.
• Identify and report hazardous conditions or damage to utility infrastructure.
• Work collaboratively with ground crews, operators, and field supervisors to ensure timely project completion.
• Maintain tools, equipment, and vehicles in safe and working condition.
• Perform various other general labor tasks as assigned by the supervisor.
