Responsibilities Work in an acute care Med Surg / Progressive Care (Stepdown) unit with telemetry capability The unit has 18 beds, including 6 PCU-capable beds, all private rooms Night shift schedule : 12-hour shifts, three shifts per week Required to work every other weekend (Fri & Sat nights) Nurse to patient ratios are 1 : 4 on tele and 1 : 3 on PCU / Stepdown May float to all Med Surg units as needed Uses Allscripts Sunrise EMR system and Phillips telemetry monitors Common diagnoses include AMI, stroke / TIA, pneumonia, renal (dialysis), Afib RVR, SIRS, and DM Cardiac and critical drips administered include Cardizem, amiodarone, bumex, Lasix, integrillin, octreotide, and protonix Hospitalist, respiratory therapy, and pharmacy staff available 24 / 7 Charge nurse on duty 24 / 7 who may take a small patient load as needed Support team includes tele techs, house unit coordinators, patient care techs, and CNAs CNAs typically manage up to 9 patients each No IV team support; RNs handle IV skills independently Orientation includes 2-3 days with a preceptor May be assigned to COVID patient care areas if the need arises Scrub or dress code details were not specified Requirements Active AZ or compact state RN license required Current AHA certifications : BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS Minimum 1 year recent experience in acute care telemetry required; 2 years preferred Experience working in both Med Surg and progressive care / stepdown settings required Ability to interpret and document on telemetry strips, with expectation to validate monitor tech readings Must be able to manage high flow O2 and care for COVID patients if needed Benefits High Pay and Bonuses Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance with Day 1 Options 401(k) Plan Weekly Payroll Deposit Free Online CEUs Generous Housing Allowance Travel and Licensure Reimbursements Non-taxed Per Diem and Subsidy Traveler Rewards and Discounts American Traveler Job ID P-631286.
