About The Position

Job Title : ICU Registered Nurse

Profession : Registered Nurse

Hours per Shift : 12

Experience : Minimum 2 years ICU-CCU experience

License : Active Registered Nurse License

Certifications : ACLS, BLS required, not expiring within 30 days

Must-Have : EPIC experience required

Description :

TMC orientation is held twice a month.

Guaranteed hours are provided.

Floating to step-down or post-critical care unit is required.

Every other weekend coverage is necessary, with four weekend shifts per contract.

The patient ratio is 1 : 2.

Local candidates within 75 miles of the facility will not be considered.

Preferred experience includes charting system experience.

Skills required include accessing ports, arterial line management, and assisting with chest tube insertion and removal.

Additional skills include management of BiPAP, CPAP, and blood product administration.

Care for ventilated patients is essential.

Central line care and continuous IV sedation experience are required.

Candidates should be proficient in CVA / acute stroke management and ICP monitoring.

Experience in infection prevention and interpretation of arterial blood gases is necessary.

Management of patients with multisystem organ dysfunction or failure is critical.

Knowledge of neuro-intensive care unit protocols is important.

Experience with phlebotomy and post-neurosurgery management is beneficial.

Procedural sedation administration and sheath removal skills are expected.

Experience in ventilator management is required.

Unit details include adult and geriatric patient care.

The daily census is 16 with 16 available beds.

Interdisciplinary support includes IV teams, respiratory services, and social services.

Patient diagnoses may include sepsis, post-surgical conditions, cardiac arrest, stroke, and acute kidney failure.

Special procedures performed in the unit include craniotomies and neuro intervention for aneurysm repairs.
