About the Role

Directs and manages the activities of Scientific Services staff in the support and conduct of contracted studies.

What You'll Do Here

• Ensure scientific services staff maintains Good Laboratory Practices (GLP)
• Ensure all Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Study Specific Procedures (SSPs) are prepared and in place for use
• Ensure the development, review, revision, and implementation of SOPs, SSPs, policies, training manuals and / or checklists relating to animals, technical procedures, facility issues, etc.
• Direct the scheduling of the scientific services staff to ensure optimal study results and work load balancing across reporting groups
• Monitor progress of studies to verify adherence to study guidelines as well as time lines
• Determine the training required of departmental staff and ensures compliance with training requirements
• Facilitate or participate in meetings regarding study and management planning
• Ensure staff adherence to study conduct as described in protocol and SOPs
• Assess and provide management with resource and safety study metrics
• Proactively work to avoid errors, and when errors occur, initiates appropriate root cause analysis and corrective action
• Ensures appropriate collection and organization of study data
• Interviewing, hiring, and training employees
• Planning, assigning, and directing work
• Appraising performance, rewarding and disciplining employees
• Addressing complaints and resolving problems

What We Offer

The pay range estimated for this position is $95,000 - $115,000 annually. Please note that hourly rates / salaries vary within the range based on factors including, but not limited to, prior relevant experience, skills, education, certification, location as well as internal equity and market data.
