Clinical Shift Schedule : Mon Fri, 7a 3p (5x8s per week; minimum 8 shifts per month, Mondays and Fridays required) COVERAGE DATES

PATIENT INFORMATION

Patient Demographics : 90% Adults, 10% Pediatrics

Patient Volume / Census : Approx. 25 cases per day

Phone Consults : No

Case Mix : 95% Surgical, 5% Other; bread and butter cases, outpatient surgery, ICU intubations, medically directed C-sections

FACILITY INFORMATION

No. of Beds in Department : 165

EMR System : Epic

Office Equipment Available : Standard anesthesia equipment

Specialty Backup Available : Full physician supervision (100% medically directed)

Support Staff Available : RNs, anesthesia team

Reason for Coverage : Turnover vacancy

Hospital Privileges Required : Yes

Temporary Privileges Available : No (full privileges required)

Credentialing Timeline : 90 days

Spinals

Airway management

Monitored Anesthesia Care (MAC)

General Anesthesia (GA)

C-sections (medically directed)

ICU intubations

JOB REQUIREMENTS

Licenses : Active Pennsylvania license required

Board : Board Certified CRNA

DEA : Not required

Certifications : ACLS, BLS, CPR, PALS

Experience : Obstetrics experience required (C-sections and spinals)

Other Qualifications : Will also consider providers already credentialed at other UPMC sites

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Provide anesthesia coverage across main OR, surgery center, and L&D (approx. 80% OR, 15% surgery, 5% L&D)

Perform spinals, intubations, MAC, GA, and other anesthesia procedures

Support elective surgical schedule and assist with overflow and emergent procedures as needed

Collaborate with supervising physicians and anesthesia team in a medically directed model

Maintain accurate documentation in Epic EMR
